I'm so happy. I've been wanting a kitten for years. We have a dog, and I love him, but I'm a cat person. We had three cats before; one was named Kitty (lol) whom my dad found before I was born. Then we got another, Bailey, when I was four (my dad always calls cats "Kitty" so to avoid confusion the rest of us called Kitty "Big Kitty" after Bailey came around), and then we found Mitch about two years later. Mitch was really timid and scared of everything, but he kinda liked us so he stuck around. But he liked these people down the street from us more, so he hung around with them most of the time. And I guess they didn't know he was ours, because when they moved, they took Mitch.
We were like, "Um...okay, bye?" LOL whatever.
Bailey was an outdoor cat and she was mean and didn't really need us so we sort of just fed her and left her alone, and she was cool with that. She was nice when it was rainy or cold because then we'd let her inside. She got hit by a car last year. Big Kitty was 16 years old and she was failing so we put her to sleep. She was the only one my dad actually liked because he'd had her for so long, so when we put her down, he said no more cats. He didn't want to get attached to another cat and then have to let it go, too.
But my dad is a HUGE cat person, and he's finally decided that we've got far too long not having a cat around. So we're getting a kitten. We're going to get a short-haired one so it won't shed everywhere, and we're going to get it really young so we can bond with it and it'll be a nice kitty.
I kind of want a ginger kitten solely so I can name it Chekov. Is that geeky? It's geeky, isn't it. BUT COME ON. LET'S COMPARE:

I can see it.
ReplyDelete*sigh* Chekov
Look at him. I bet Spock loves him, because Chekov is like an adorable little kitten, and Spock likes cats.
